About The Position

We are currently seeking Senior Auditors to join our firm. Senior Auditors can perform most engagements with little supervision. They direct and review the work of staff auditors and are capable of making decisions on most accounting, tax, and auditing matters. When unusual or complex situations arise in the audit, they present the pertinent information to the senior engagement management and follow their guidance. Successful candidates will enjoy minimal out of town travel and a great work-life balance, including a hybrid work schedule. Requirements

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, and/or an undergraduate or graduate degree with sufficient coursework to qualify to become licensed as a CPA
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
  • A strong dedication to teamwork, leadership, and client service
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and develop staff
  • Integrity within the professional environment
  • Ability to adapt to work schedule and job requirements, including some travel and hours beyond the standard workday as needed
  • Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Government and non-profit audit experience preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop people through effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff
  • Provide performance feedback and training, and complete performance evaluations for staff
  • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
  • Use technology to continually learn, enhance service delivery, and improve efficiency
  • Direct fieldwork daily; inform supervisors of the engagement status; plan, coordinate, and supervise the various phases of audit engagements
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client personnel, assess client satisfaction, and proactively maintain contact with the client throughout the year
  • Adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations
  • Understand the client’s financial reporting requirements, prepare client financial statements and other required reports, and meet deadlines provided by the client and firm supervisors
  • Identify operational improvements for suggestions to clients
  • Identify risks or issues that should be brought to the attention of the Audit Supervisor, Audit Manager, Senior Audit Manager, Principal, or Partner
  • Begin reviewing staff workpapers, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policy
  • Begin acquiring public speaking and presentation skills
  • Manage overtime effectively to complete assigned tasks through assistance of the audit team
  • Actively work towards passing the CPA exam
