At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it. Peraton is seeking an Automation Architect - SME to support technical modernization efforts in Alaska. This role will help define, design, and guide automation solutions that improve consistency, efficiency, and operational performance across supported systems and services. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and the ability to work across engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience; or 10 years of experience with applicable Masters, or 7 years applicaple experience with PHD
  • Extensive experience designing or implementing automation solutions in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with systems integration, scripting, orchestration, or infrastructure automation concepts.
  • Strong technical architecture and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting FAA, aviation, or federal modernization efforts.
  • Experience in cloud, hybrid, or infrastructure automation environments.
  • Experience supporting remote operational environments or geographically dispersed sites.

Responsibilities

  • Design and guide automation strategies supporting technical and operational objectives.
  • Evaluate current processes and systems to identify automation opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and program leadership to define automation requirements and implementation approaches.
  • Support integration of automation solutions into broader enterprise and program environments.
  • Develop architecture-level recommendations, technical guidance, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Ensure automation designs align with security, reliability, maintainability, and operational requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting, technical risk identification, and resolution planning for automation-related issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and design artifacts.
