Senior AV Technician
About The Position
Jarvis Smart Homes is seeking a Senior AV Technician to join our team, working primarily in south Houston. This role is designed for an experienced, hands-on technician who excels at the physical side of the industry—mounting, retrofitting, structured wiring, and rack building—and is ready to take on increased technical responsibility. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a senior technician who can take a set of plans, lead the work on site, work alongside a helper, and execute a flawless install. On larger projects, this role will also coordinate day-to-day installation activities with subcontractors to ensure work is aligned, sequenced correctly, and meets Jarvis Smart Homes’ standards. While deep programming knowledge is not required on Day 1, this role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Automation Programmer.
Requirements
- 3+ Years of Experience
- Proven history in residential AV or low-voltage installation.
- The “Hands”
- Confidence fishing wire in finished walls, mounting TVs on various surfaces, and building tidy, professional racks.
- The “Head”
- Solid understanding of home networks (setting up WAPs, testing speed and connectivity).
- Professional Maturity
- Comfortable collaborating with teammates, helpers, and subcontractors, and communicating professionally with clients.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Automation Experience (Preferred)
- Familiarity with Control4 or Savant is a plus, but not required. We are happy to train the right master installer.
