About The Position
Join the founding engineering team at Duckbill to build Skyway, an enterprise SaaS platform untangling the $47.5B cloud cost management market. You will design and operate the high-performance backend services and APIs that power data-heavy product experiences for Fortune 500 clients, transforming messy billing data into actionable financial intelligence. Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with at least 3 years of professional Python development in production environments.
- Proven track record of designing RESTful APIs and working with both transactional (PostgreSQL) and analytical (ClickHouse/S3) data stores.
- Experience shipping user-facing product features in a fast-paced startup environment where data quality and performance are mission-critical.
Responsibilities
- Design and scale backend services using Python and Flask to deliver low-latency, reliable APIs for complex cloud financial data.
- Architect and maintain critical data modeling workflows within PostgreSQL and ClickHouse to ensure absolute correctness and performance at enterprise scale.
- Collaborate with data engineers on ETL patterns and validation systems that normalize billing data from all major cloud providers.
