We are seeking an experienced Balance of Plant (BOP) Controls Engineer responsible for the design, maintenance, modification, and performance optimization of control systems supporting plant systems in a nuclear power facility. This role ensures reliable operation of turbine-generator, feedwater, cooling water, condensate, and auxiliary systems in compliance with regulatory and plant requirements. The position requires strong technical discipline, configuration control adherence, and collaboration with operations, design, and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of industrial control systems experience
  • Experience with PLC or DCS platforms
  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Design, configure, and maintain PLC and/or DCS-based control systems
  • Develop and tune PID control loops for turbine and feedwater systems
  • Support turbine control, condensate systems, circulating water, service water, and auxiliary systems
  • Maintain alarm setpoints and HMI configurations

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of the assigned manufacturing processes to support maintenance and operations troubleshooting
  • MkVIe troubleshooting, maintenance, and code improvements to support business needs
  • PLC troubleshooting, maintenance, and code improvements to support business needs
  • Management of PLC software licenses and associated software configuration management
  • Management of Process historian hardware, software, and tags
  • Creation, modification, support of industrial controls including hardware specification and loop sheet and electrical schematic creation and maintenance
  • Provide operational oversight and training support for operators and maintenance of control systems
  • Support 24/7 manufacturing operation, including emergency response, and scheduled projects
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
