About The Position

RVO Health is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Senior Benefits Administrator to administer and support our employee benefits and leave of absence programs. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of health, welfare, retirement, and all ancillary benefit programs, including self-insured plan operations, benefits billing, and comprehensive leave management, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and an excellent employee experience. Benefit programs may evolve over time, and this role supports current and future benefit offerings as needed. This role reports into the Compliance & Benefits Manager and works cross-functionally with HR Operations, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and third-party vendors to ensure benefit and leave programs are administered consistently, compliantly, and cost-effectively. To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on an in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our Fort Mill, SC office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience, including hands-on support of self-insured health plans
  • Demonstrated experience administering health, welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs
  • Proven experience managing benefits billing and reconciliation
  • Strong working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, and applicable state leave laws
  • Experience working with TPAs, PBMs, stop-loss carriers, and third-party leave administrators
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance
  • Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to employees and managers

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS platforms preferred
  • Experience supporting international benefits programs a plus

Responsibilities

  • Administer the company’s health, welfare, retirement, and all ancillary benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life insurance, disability, voluntary benefits, wellness programs, and any additional benefit offerings
  • Support day-to-day operations of self-insured medical plans, including coordination with TPAs, PBMs, stop-loss carriers, and other vendors
  • Ensure accurate eligibility, enrollments, changes, and ongoing plan administration across all benefit offerings
  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process, including system configuration, testing, vendor coordination, employee communications, and issue resolution
  • Maintain benefits documentation, policies, procedures, and employee-facing resources
  • Support employee education and understanding of benefit offerings through communications, presentations, and individual support
  • Assist with benefits benchmarking and participation in benefit surveys to support market competitiveness
  • Own benefits billing and reconciliation processes across all benefit and ancillary programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, COBRA, and leave vendors
  • Review monthly vendor invoices for accuracy, eligibility alignment, and contractual compliance
  • Partner with Payroll and Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Track billing issues and trends and proactively escalate systemic concerns
  • Maintain organized billing documentation to support audits and internal reviews
  • Own the administration of all leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state leaves, company leaves, military leave, and other statutory or policy-based leaves
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, timelines, and return-to-work coordination
  • Partner closely with third-party leave administrators to ensure accurate case setup, documentation, tracking, and resolution
  • Ensure leave administration aligns with company policy, payroll processes, and applicable federal and state laws
  • Monitor leave cases for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, escalating complex matters as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing benefits and leaves, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, and applicable state leave laws
  • Support preparation and filing of regulatory reports and filings, including Forms 1094/1095-C, 5500s, and other required documentation
  • Coordinate preparation and distribution of required notices and disclosures such as SPDs and SMMs
  • Support HR Business Partners with escalated or sensitive benefits and leave inquiries
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and vendors to mitigate risk and resolve complex issues
  • Escalate complex compliance, policy interpretation, employee relations, or regulatory matters to the Compliance & Benefits Manager or Legal as appropriate
  • Participate in audits, internal reviews, and special projects as assigned
