CSP is seeking experienced professionals to join high -impact teams on landmark projects. Step into a leadership role on one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in U.S. history! This senior position supports Micron Technology's landmark $100+ billion semiconductor manufacturing Megafab in Central New York — the largest semiconductor facility ever planned in the United States. Currently in groundbreaking and early construction phases (with site preparation underway following rigorous environmental reviews and permits), this project will drive AI innovation, bolster national security through domestic chip production, and generate tens of thousands of jobs while revitalizing the Upstate economy. As a Senior Biological Monitor, you will serve as a key environmental compliance leader, providing expert oversight during intensive construction activities. You will ensure full implementation of approved Best Management Practices (BMPs), permit conditions, mitigation measures, and regulatory requirements to protect sensitive habitats, wildlife, wetlands, and water resources. This senior role involves mentoring junior monitors, leading field teams, making real -time compliance decisions, and collaborating at a high level with construction management, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, or a closely related field (required; Master's degree or equivalent advanced training preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience performing environmental/biological monitoring and compliance oversight on major construction, infrastructure, or linear/utility projects (required; 7+ years strongly preferred).
  • In -depth, expert -level knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental permits (e.g., USACE Section 404/401, NYSDEC permits), BMPs, SWPPP development/implementation, erosion/sediment control techniques, and wildlife/habitat protection regulations.
  • Proven experience with wildlife and habitat protection, including invasive species management, species relocation, and mitigation implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work extended periods outdoors in active, heavy construction environments under variable weather and demanding site conditions.
  • Exceptional documentation, technical reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills; experience preparing compliance reports and interfacing with regulators/agencies.
  • Proven track record of independent leadership while effectively coordinating with diverse project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior monitors or field staff (preferred).
  • English proficiency (required).
  • Reliable ability to commute daily to the project site in the Syracuse, NY 13215 / Clay area (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Hands -on experience leading acoustic bat monitoring programs, environmental data collection/analysis, and reporting for regulatory compliance.
  • Local candidates (Central New York / Upstate New York area) are strongly preferred to support immediate on -site availability and minimize relocation challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monitoring and detailed documentation of environmental BMPs, mitigation measures, and permit compliance across active construction zones.
  • Oversee protection of wetlands, forests, grasslands, and conservation areas, enforcing strict limits of disturbance and coordinating avoidance/minimization strategies.
  • Direct verification, installation, and maintenance of erosion/sediment controls and full SWPPP compliance, including inspections and corrective actions.
  • Manage installation, monitoring, and removal of environmental fencing, barriers, and signage programs.
  • Supervise dewatering operations, wildlife relocation protocols, and response to stranded or at -risk species.
  • Lead efforts in native plantings, invasive species control, equipment decontamination, and ecological restoration activities.
  • Monitor and enforce noise, lighting, and other impact -minimization controls to protect wildlife, including seasonal restrictions.
  • Ensure comprehensive water quality protections, spill prevention/response, and safe material handling practices.
  • Oversee seasonal vegetation clearing and confirm all required pre -construction surveys and monitoring are executed.
  • Direct acoustic bat monitoring programs during construction and post -construction phases, ensuring adherence to approved study plans and data quality standards.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for environmental compliance issues; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, lead resolution efforts, and provide guidance to junior staff and construction crews.
  • Prepare detailed reports, contribute to regulatory submissions, and participate in agency consultations as a senior subject matter expert.
