About The Position

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Senior Business Development Coordinator in our Marketing department, reporting directly to the Director of Business Development. The position will reside in the New York office, with hybrid work capabilities, and will be responsible for helping drive the strategic growth of the firm’s Corporate practice, with an emphasis on our M&A and Private Equity groups. The ideal Senior Business Development Coordinator is a creative thinker, has strong written and verbal communications skills, a client service-oriented approach, attention to detail, intellectually curiosity, and works well in teams and autonomously. The Senior Business Development Coordinator must be organized and have strong follow-through, proactive, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4+ years prior work experience, preferably in marketing/business development, preferably in a law firm or professional services organization.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, handle several projects at once, work independently and complete tasks under time pressure as necessary.
  • Strong work ethic and service orientation.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Poise, tact and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with transactional advisors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate practice and industry-related sponsorships, events and memberships.
  • Assist with the preparation of pitches, proposals, RFPs, and related business development and marketing presentations.
  • Write and maintain marketing collateral, including web content, pitch materials, attorney biographies and other marketing assets.
  • Assist with the ongoing collection, maintenance and accuracy of our experience database and league table reporting.
  • Maintain and update mailing lists in firm marketing database – Salesforce – to enable external communication.
  • Respond to various industry awards, surveys and directories.
  • Coordinate with appropriate internal resources to provide competitive intelligence reports and other research to lawyers.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing and Business Development team to facilitate information sharing and cross-selling initiatives.
