About The Position

Princeton University is undertaking a multi-year, campus-wide implementation of a modern cloud ERP system, beginning with Human Capital Management (HCM) processes. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will serve as a functional and technical liaison within the Office of the Dean of the Faculty (ODoF), driving process optimization, systems integration, and operational readiness for the future ERP environment. Reporting to the Director of Data Management and Operations, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead the mapping, documentation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end business processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with evolving needs. This includes developing a comprehensive understanding of all system flows, integrations, and process maps across ODoF, and maintaining a view of how data and transactions move between Interfolio, PeopleSoft, Labor Accounting, Payroll, and future ERP platforms. This role will provide high-level oversight of faculty compensation processes, with primary ownership of Contract Pay and related HCM functionality in PeopleSoft. The incumbent will guide complex integrations between Interfolio, PeopleSoft, Labor Accounting, and other enterprise systems—acting as a subject matter expert who partners closely with Payroll, OIT, and campus stakeholders to ensure data integrity, reconciliation accuracy, and compliance with university and regulatory requirements. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will manage the full lifecycle of the Faculty Information System (Interfolio), including governance of workflow design, system configuration, role-based access, data quality, and integration points. They will provide strategic oversight of appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant routing of reviews across academic departments. In addition, the incumbent will design and maintain dashboards and reports in IBM Cognos and Tableau; define data standards; ensure consistent, operational and analytical reporting; and inform leadership decision-making through advanced analysis and scenario modeling. This position requires deep technical and functional expertise, exceptional analytical and process-mapping skills, and the ability to translate operational requirements into scalable system solutions. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will play an important role in stabilizing and enhancing current platforms while preparing ODoF for a successful transition to a cloud-based ERP—supporting high-impact academic operations and strengthening organizational effectiveness across the University. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated leadership in HCM business processes, with expertise in Contract Pay, PeopleSoft HCM, Interfolio, OnBase, workflow design, data integration, and enterprise reporting tools such as IBM Cognos and Tableau. Experience leading process redesign projects or system implementations in a complex, highly regulated environment is strongly preferred. This is a 2 year, benefits-eligible term appointment with a possibility of transitioning to an ongoing position after funding approval. This is a hybrid role.
