This position requires the preparation of Purchase Orders and support documentation in accordance with departmental policies and FAR/DFAR/ITAR regulations. Applicants must be well-versed in submitting compliant RFQs to suppliers, performing a price analysis, and monitoring suppliers’ delivery commitments to ensure the programs can remain on schedule. This individual will issue POs across multiple programs in parallel and will be involved in all phases of activity from business development and capture strategy, pre-solicitation, proposal, award, post award, and closeout. This includes negotiation, documentation, placement, and administration of mid-level Purchase Orders. Support major business proposal initiatives by requesting, analyzing, and evaluating supplier proposals/quotations, performing analysis, and negotiating for fair and reasonable price. Participate in continuous improvement events. Assist other procurement team members with day-to-day activities. Build and maintain constructive, professional relationships with Customers and Suppliers. Participate in Program and Supplier reviews. Ideally, this person would have advanced Excel skills allowing them to quickly break down hundreds of requisition lines at once, as this is a high-quantity, fast-paced role. This role will be primarily on-site in Westford, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically Requires a BS/BA degree and 2 years of relevant experience or a advance degree.
  • Knowledge of government regulations (FAR/DFAR/ITAR).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Purchase Orders from supplier selection to RFP/RFQ submission, quote receipt, analyzing quote, negotiating quote , documenting PO, and monitoring supplier issues and delivery.
  • Actively monitor open orders, update status, and ensure that Operations and Program personnel are notified of any delivery date changes; escalate to expedite when necessary.
  • Seek new sources of supply when necessary. This involves working closely with Supplier Quality and Engineering to complete necessary processes for adding a new, qualified supplier.
  • Ability to successfully manage long-term supplier relationships.
