Senior CAD Technician - Revit / Process Mechanical

KJ is seeking a Senior CAD Technician – Revit / Process Mechanical to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team supporting municipal and industrial clients. In this role, you’ll apply your modeling and drafting expertise to process and mechanical systems across water, wastewater, recycled water, and utility infrastructure projects, supporting both design and construction documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience producing mechanical drawings
- Proficiency in Revit is required; AutoCAD experience preferred
- Experience with FDM (ACC) and/or ProjectWise, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office; MicroStation and OpenPlant a plus
- Understanding of piping fundamentals, including pumps, valves, equipment layouts, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings
- Effective communicator with a collaborative, proactive approach to teamwork
- Adaptable to evolving project needs and delivery methods
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills
Responsibilities
- Develop technical drawings and construction plans using Revit and supporting CAD software (AutoCAD)
- Perform advanced drafting and design tasks for process/mechanical systems under general direction, ensuring alignment with company, client, and industry standards
- Coordinate across disciplines on mid- to large-scale, complex projects to support delivery of high-quality construction documents within scope, schedule, and budget
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and project teams regarding task execution and project progress
- Identify design conflicts, propose solutions, and collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve them
- Serve as CAD Lead on mid- to large-sized projects, specifically for mechanical systems
