The Job: As a Sr. Category Manager, you’ll be part of our Towson, MD team working as a hybrid employee. The Senior Category Manager - STSS is responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing all go-to-market activities for our Specialty Tools & Storage product categories and brands through the lifecycle of a product underpinned by a continuous focus on innovation. Their role is to develop and implement brand and category strategies underpinned by lifecycle management, conduct regular market analysis and manage the marketing budget allocation. It is important for them to understand their company's overall business strategy and align their category strategy with the company's goals. They will ensure correct brand and channel positioning with a clear and consistent brand message and drive commercial resource allocations. Overall, the Senior Category Manager – STSS will drive continuous improvement in processes and function. In this role, you will be the category expert within brand & category to deliver strategies that align to the category Strategy Ensuring Implementation Across the Full Product Lifecycle. You’ll get to: Execute category strategy across all STSS Category portfolios. Guide NPD process to align with brand direction through early-stage ideation phase. Provide feedback on prioritization of product development projects based on category strategy. Gather and synthesize information from various teams to assess competitive positioning, identify opportunities, and understand market dynamics. Transform broader market intelligence into actionable insights, drive category growth initiatives, and inform product prioritization and go-to-market plans. Build optimized and impactful launch plans for new product introductions. Recommend budget allocations for marketing spend by category in conjunction with brand marketing team. Product life cycle management, including low/negative margin analysis and SKU rationalization. Identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate organizational change initiatives within scope. Own the Category P&L and business performance reporting such as in Quarterly Business Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews, IBP Process etc. Provide financial analysis by category to the channel marketing team for annual quoting and line review process. Deliver Category education & storytelling to internal & external parties. Communicate strategy with cross-functional teams (sales, brand, product, channel) and act as point of contact for product launch. Lead operational alignment across team (supply chain, manufacturing, marketing) to ensure product availability and readiness are timely and effective. Manage and mentor category analysts and provide guidance on deliverables for broader team and senior leadership. Coordinate with regional teams on product development initiatives, marketing strategy, and life cycle management opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing.
  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management experince.
  • Experince with Market & Competitor Analysis
  • Assortment Planning and Commercial Execution Experience (Essential)
  • Being data-driven
  • Self-Starter with excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Proven track record of driving initiatives from strategy to execution.
  • Ability to communicate and partner effectively amongst different levels of the organization.
