This individual independently plans, performs the moderately-defined responsibility for the designing, standardizing, implementing, verifying, validating, and commercializing of Wireless WAN (or cellular) air interface and modem technologies, as a prototype, specification, product, or component within a product. Has expertise in the WWAN specifications and can design, optimize, and implement software for advanced wireless systems and modems. Works closely with the other functional groups to develop a cost effective, high quality and high capability air interface and modem that meets industry and customer requirements with high performance (e.g., capacity, coverage, throughput, latency, power consumption) and acceptable cost (e.g., silicon area, calibration complexity, code size). Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings. Will accept a Master's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field. Will also accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field and five (5) years of progressive experience in a related occupation.
