Looking for an experienced CNC Machinist. Job Summary: Plays play a key role in manufacturing complex and critical components for medical devices using advanced CNC machining technologies. Requires extensive experience, technical expertise, and leadership skills to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency in production.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 5-10 years of experience in CNC machining and programming within a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in CNC programming, setup, and operation of advanced machining centers.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials (e.g., stainless steel, titanium), and tooling selection.
  • Proficiency in CAM software, CAD/CAM integration, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup and operation of CNC machine tools including multi-axis mills, lathes, and Swiss-style machines.
  • Ability to edit CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, PartMaker) for complex geometries and tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review and interpret technical drawings, models, and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior machinists, including training on machining techniques and best practices.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., CMM, micrometers, bore gauges, vision systems).
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to ensure efficient production.
  • Implement and maintain process improvements, tooling strategies, and machining parameters to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols applicable to medical device manufacturing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing projects, and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
