Senior Coating Inspector
About The Position
This is a part-time position, with an as-needed status that is determined by project schedule and requirement. This position primarily performs Coating Condition Surveys on Department of Defense (DoD) Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL, or "fuels") piping and storage tanks, including inspections before, during, and after coating applications to assess quality. The inspector acts as the coatings expert to ensure protective coatings are applied correctly to prevent corrosion on structures like pipelines and fuel tanks. This position utilizes destructive and non-destructive inspection equipment and testing methods to analyze results, identify concerns, and provide written findings, including safety concerns and mitigation recommendations.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain military base access through background checks.
- Current passport and valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience working with coatings.
- Minimum five (5) years field experience with DoD POL facilities.
- AMPP SSPC Certified Protective Coating Specialist.
- SSPC Certified Master Coating Inspector.
Nice To Haves
- OSHA 30 certified
- Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods on short notice.
