About The Position

The Senior Commodity Trader is responsible for developing and executing profitable trading opportunities in the North American market. This role manages the end-to-end trading cycle—from sourcing and pricing to contract negotiation and logistics coordination. We are looking for a high-potential professional who can grow into an independent P&L contributor while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of commodity trading or international trading experience
  • Strong understanding of international trade practices and Incoterms.
  • Experience with import/export processes, contract negotiation, and logistics coordination.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally for supplier meetings and business development.
  • Fluency in both English and Korean is required.

  • Experience working with global trading companies or commodity trading organizations.
  • Familiarity with freight markets, risk management, or hedging tools.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute trading opportunities across various commodities in the North American market.
  • Build and maintain active communication with vendors, traders, and end-users to support sales growth.
  • Assist in negotiating purchase and sales contracts, focusing on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage the full trading cycle, including sourcing, pricing, contracting, and shipment coordination.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain import/export documentation (PO, Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, etc.).
  • Monitor order status and coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely and efficient shipment flow.
  • Handle claims, quality issues, and post-shipment disputes to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and order records and coordinate with accounting on AP, AR, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor commodity market trends, raw material prices, and freight movements to support trading decisions and business planning.
  • Serve as a bilingual liaison between North American operations and Korean headquarters to support business development and operational alignment.
