Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in cloud security, cybersecurity compliance, or governance roles with strong exposure to federal security frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance programs related to cloud environments and security controls.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict timelines and budget expectations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security architecture, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage both technical experts and compliance stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience conducting security assessments, reviewing audit findings, and developing remediation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration across distributed teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or cloud security certifications are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead compliance engagements and advisory projects related to cloud security frameworks, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct in-depth compliance assessments and gap analyses, identifying potential risks and recommending strategies to achieve regulatory alignment.
  • Review and validate security assessments conducted by third-party assessors to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed policies, procedures, and documentation that support regulatory and security requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions with technical teams and compliance stakeholders, translating complex security requirements into actionable guidance.
  • Provide expert advice on cloud security controls and regulatory frameworks, supporting organizations in implementing effective compliance strategies.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders to clarify compliance expectations and negotiate control interpretations when necessary.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to building organizational knowledge in compliance processes and best practices.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and evolving compliance standards to ensure ongoing alignment with current security and governance requirements.
