FCC Environmental Services is seeking a Senior Compliance and Environmental Manager to lead and strengthen environmental compliance across operations in a highly regulated environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and supporting safe, sustainable operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental compliance in a landfill, recycling center, environmental services, or other highly regulated industry
  • Extensive expertise in leading complex permitting efforts and obtaining regulatory approvals from relevant state agencies.
  • Experience developing plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, storm water, NPDES
  • Demonstrated project management experience; excellent communication, verbal and written skills are required; candidate shall be able to communicate professionally with appropriate detail.
  • Knowledge of the key air, water, and waste permitting and management issues within the solid waste industry, as well as a high degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of environmental compliance best practices.
  • Previous experience with regulatory compliance management

Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of CalRecycle regulations, environmental agency regulations Best Management Practices, and compliance requirements for landfills and recycling centers in CA
  • Responsible for facility wide compliance with all regulatory agency regulations and reporting, including CalRecycle, Placer County APCD, RWQCB, CARB, CUPA and multiple agencies governing stormwater and hazardous materials.
  • Responsible for providing functional direction on environmental permitting strategies, data collection, agency engagement, and permit preparation and submittals.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on environmental regulations, permits, and compliance obligations, ensuring full alignment with all governing agencies
  • Manage and coordinate with third party consultants supporting environmental compliance, engineering and development work.
  • Maintain master schedule of all daily, weekly, monthly facility inspections and ensure their completion
  • Provides daily, weekly, monthly reporting to meet the requirements of all regulatory agencies.
  • Works in conjunction with the Senior Leadership, Corporate Safety, and other functions to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Act as Liaison between regulatory agencies and company
