About The Position

The Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Administrator is a subject matter expert responsible for The Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Administrator/Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day FTZ operations, ensuring compliance with FTZ regulations and U.S. Customs procedures, and providing guidance to internal teams and external clients. This role combines hands-on operational execution, including admissions, withdrawals, inventory management, and duty payments, with strategic problem-solving, process improvement, and regulatory expertise. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while also advising teams and clients on FTZ compliance and operational efficiency. This position offers exposure to cross-functional teams, opportunities to build expertise in international trade compliance, and the chance to directly impact operational effectiveness and regulatory outcomes. The employee performs work under the supervision of the FTZ Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Transportation, Logistics, International Business or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in performing FTZ operations, customs compliance, or international trade functions
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures, FTZ regulations, and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Familiarity with FTZ systems and software to manage inventory, documentation, and compliance processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Available for occasional domestic travel
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or Accredited Zones Specialist (AZS)
  • Hands-on experience managing FTZ inventory, reconciliations, and documentation
  • Prior experience in trade compliance, logistics, or cross-border operations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address operational challenges efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day FTZ operations, including admissions, withdrawals, inventory tracking, and duty payments
  • Prepare, review, and submit all required FTZ documentation and regulatory filings to U.S. Customs and other authorities
  • Maintain and reconcile FTZ inventory records; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to ensure audit readiness and minimize compliance risk
  • Apply FTZ regulations and U.S. Customs procedures to support operational decisions and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure all FTZ operations are within the approved scope and comply with internal policies and CBP regulations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams and external clients regarding FTZ operational and compliance matters
  • Collaborate with logistics, supply chain, purchasing, and other teams to ensure coordinated, compliant execution of FTZ activities
  • Provide guidance and training to internal staff and external partners on FTZ compliance and documentation requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase operational efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen internal controls
