Senior Corporate Counsel 1 - Product

About the position

This is a unique opportunity to join the growing Product Legal team at Snowflake. This role will focus on cutting edge legal issues including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), partnering with a variety of teams across Snowflake to build, launch and enhance a wide range of offerings to support the company’s go-to-market strategies and compliance efforts. It is based in Menlo Park, California with a hybrid in-office requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product and engineering teams to advise on legal and regulatory requirements for existing and new offerings.
• Be (or become) an expert in AI/ML legal issues and how they impact our business.
• Develop and operationalize procedures to facilitate responsible product and feature development and deployment.
• Engage cross-functionally within the legal department and the broader organization on privacy, security, compliance, intellectual property, and other matters.
• Partner with commercial legal as a subject matter expert in customer negotiations.
• Support continuous improvements of forms, policies, and processes to build scalable solutions and streamline the provision of legal support.
• Provide sound, practical advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school, membership in at least one state bar, and ability to practice in California
• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Technically savvy with ability to quickly learn and support new paradigms
• Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms
• Attitude of issue ownership and that no project is too big or too small
• Comfort working in an extremely fast-paced environment
• Sense of humor!
