Senior Corrosion Technician or Technologist
About The Position
Corrpro Company, Inc. is looking for an AMPP CP Certified Senior Corrosion Technician or Technologist. Corrpro is a corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Corrpro provides professional corrosion consulting and cathodic protection engineering services to major oil companies, government agencies, municipal water, sewer and gas utilities, universities, and public transportation agencies. Corrpro Companies is a subsidiary of Azuria Water Solutions Company.
Requirements
- AMPP CP Technician or CP Technologist certification
- 5 years of cathodic protection experience
- Project management and problem-solving skills
- Strong team and internal customer service skills
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with MS Word and Excel
- Must have valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to travel overnight and work overtime as needed
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform testing and field surveys for corrosion and corrosion protection systems, evaluation of test results and installation of cathodic protection systems on various structure
- Work with specific objectives and instruction from senior staff on customer drawings and specifications
- Conduct field surveys to gather data for evaluation of corrosion and corrosion control
- Execute pipeline and tank integrity testing
- Perform testing of corrosion prevention systems including cathodic protection, protective coatings, AC/DC interference and corrosion monitoring
- Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
- Diagnose and develop recommended remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations
- Write survey reports for review by an engineer
- Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings
- Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent addition of detail
- Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables
- Assemble and analyze data for preparation of final client report including recommendations
- Prepare survey reports and final job reports for review
- Assist manager in appraising employee performance and related matters
- Act as direct interface with customer as needed
- Assist in cost estimation and detailed proposal
