About The Position

We are hiring! We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst that will provide advanced analytics, economic, and data visualization support to CDC’s Division of Global HIV and TB. The contractor supports strategic decision-making related to global health investments, including HIV, TB, global health security (GHS), and other public health programs. This role integrates financial, epidemiologic, programmatic, and related datasets to inform resource allocation, sustainability planning, performance and health outcome monitoring. The position emphasizes rigorous quantitative analysis and high-quality data visualization products that translate complex findings into actionable insights for leadership and agency stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5 years with a Bachelors Degree or 9 years of experience with a HS Diploma.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis, economic evaluation, or public health data analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex financial, public health and programmatic datasets.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata, SQL).
  • Experience developing dashboards and visualization products using platforms such as MS Excel, Tableau, Power BI, R Shiny, or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Health Policy, or related quantitative field
  • Experience supporting federal public health agencies or other global health partners.
  • Familiarity with cost-effectiveness analysis, allocative efficiency modeling, or sustainability framework

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced statistical, economic resource tracking, and cost-effectiveness analyses of public health program data and investments.
  • Analyze expenditure, cost-per-outcome, and return-on-investment data to assess program efficiency and impact.
  • Integrate financial, epidemiologic, and programmatic datasets to evaluate performance and inform allocative efficiency decisions.
  • Develop forecasting models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Perform targeted analyses of workforce (Human Resources for Health) data relevant to program performance and sustainability objectives.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, automated reports, and data visualization products for technical and executive audiences.
  • Utilize tools such as Tableau, Power BI, R Shiny or cloud-hosted applications to enhance accessibility and usability of analytic outputs.
  • Translate complex, multi-country datasets into clear visual formats that highlight trends, cost drivers, performance gaps, and geographic variation.
  • Prepare executive-ready briefing materials, visual analytic summaries, and data storytelling products.
  • Produce analytic briefs and summary reports to support CDC leadership and interagency coordination.
  • Translate technical findings into policy-relevant insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with CDC program teams, country teams, epidemiologists, and USG-supported country partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve analytic efficiency, reporting automation, and dashboard functionality.
  • Stay current with emerging methodologies in health economics, data science, and visualization.
