About The Position

Walmart Global Tech is looking to hire a seasoned Senior Data Scientist for their Personalization team in Sunnyvale, CA to support the Personalization and Recommendation development efforts with our eCommerce team. About the Team: The Personalization team consists of platform, application engineers, scientists and product visionaries all working together to design, prototype and build technology-driven products and experiences that will change the future landscape of ecommerce. We are focused on building end-to-end customer experience, from finding the product to delivering it to the customer. This will span many markets, business models and form factors; therefore, we are looking for data scientists who will bring not only the experiences in technologies, but the curiosity and capability to innovate. Requirements

• Master's degree/P h. D in Data S cience, Computer Science or related fields with practical experience
• Expertise in Machine Learning, Statistics, Generatlive AI, Personalization and Item Recommendation algorithms
• Experience in data science and building and evaluating large scale machine learning and deep learning models
• Experience in designing and deploying highly scalable Recommenders s ystems for e-commerce
• Curiosity in state-of-the-art techniques in recommendation related areas
• Exceptional business acumen and problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to prototype and implement complex AI solutions
• Outstanding communication, leadership, and written skills
• St rong coding skills in Python or other related language
• Experience building scalable data pipelines using Spark, Hive, and/or SQL
• Experience designing scalable end-to-end model architectures and conduc ting ex per iment s in P yTorch /TensorFlow to solve complex predictive modeling problems
• Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Nice To Haves

• Personalization and recommendation development and implementation experience in an e-commerce environment strongly preferred
• Data science, machine learning, optimization models, Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics
• Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R
• Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch)

Responsibilities

• Develop state of the art techniques in Machine Learning, Personalization and Recommendation systems
• Design, implement, and own the state-of-the-art Machine Learning approaches including deep learning, reinforcement learning, generative AI techniques
• Collaborate with other tech leads on top-down or bottom-up initiatives and priorities
• Develop data models and iteratively improve them based on new data insights
• Design, architect and iterate on data models
• Iterate, challenge, and accelerate best practices in Personalization and Item Recommendations
