About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in ETL development, SQL Server, Python, and Linux . This role involves leading end-to-end data solution development, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore environments. The ideal candidate should be highly analytical, self-driven, and capable of delivering scalable and efficient technical solutions. Location: NY/NJ (Local candidates preferred) Experience: 12–15 Years

Requirements

• 12–15 years of experience in ETL development with a strong focus on SQL Server, Python, and Linux
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), including:
• T-SQL
• Stored Procedures
• Data Modeling & Architecture
• Performance Tuning & Optimization
• Strong experience in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
• Hands-on experience with Python for automation and data integration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Experience working in database and data integration engineering roles
• Proven experience in onshore-offshore team coordination
• Experience in technical documentation
• Exceptional T-SQL skills (mandatory)
• Banking/Financial domain experience (preferred/required)
• Must be local to NY/NJ

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3)
• Exposure to modern data pipelines, orchestration tools, or CI/CD practices

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver end-to-end ETL development using SQL Server, Python, and Linux-based components
• Architect, design, and optimize database systems for scalability, performance, and reliability
• Develop and maintain T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database structures
• Work extensively in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting for automation
• Drive Python-based scripting, automation, and integration workflows
• Collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Act as a technical lead for onshore-offshore teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables
• Troubleshoot complex data and performance issues and implement effective solutions
• Maintain and enhance technical documentation, coding standards, and design guidelines
• Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and best practices
