About The Position

GHD is growing! Who are we looking for? Aloha! Our US West Design Studio is seeking a confident leader to grow our successful team in the Pacific. GHD is looking for a Senior Lead Architect to join our Honolulu office. You will be a valued teammate, serving clients as we serve each other and strengthen our commitment to the local community in Hawaii. You will assist with the evaluation, design, and implementation of new buildings and building alterations for a variety of project types in the commercial, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, and federal market sectors, taking on a variety of leadership roles. You will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, regional leads across the West, North America and GHD’s global network. You will develop plans and associated projects to architecture in all its stages, setting materials, finishes, techniques, and methodologies; analyzing data and information; and developing technical and financial feasibility studies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Equivalent Level
  • Minimum Experience: 7 years of documented experience

Responsibilities

  • Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Analysis: Conduct complex feasibility studies from technological, financial, and organizational perspectives on bid solicitation, including request for proposal (RFP) and request for tender (RFT) project requirements, and write specifications for tenders.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
  • Architectural Design: Design architectural solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (e.g., in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
  • Engineering Drawings: Supervise the Drawing Office team, manage the quality of work, and develop the CAD systems to create complex engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Personal Capability Building: Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Building Surveys: Undertake building and technical surveys to determine the building condition and identify defects and associated risks. Includes conducting a wide range of surveys on complex sites.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
  • Construction Advice: Provide specialist professional advice relating to construction regulations and best practice with regard to complex maintenance, alteration, and construction of buildings.
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) System: Provide wide-ranging expert support for a building information modeling (BIM) system, with a particular focus on planning, implementation, and troubleshooting.
