About The Position

As a Senior Designer, you will own the category - conceptualizing, sketching and executing collection ideas that represent the Brand Ethos and fashion trends that appeal to the Nordstrom customer.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Design, preferred
7+ years' experience in design industry and 2+ years of experience managing a design team, preferred
Strong ability to hand-sketch
Strong understanding of industry and trends; and ability to handle high volume of styles
Ability to think strategically and deliver the right level of detail appropriate to the audience
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe CS.
Strong time management and multi-tasking skill, and ability to work independently or as a team

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, accurately sketch and execute collection ideas that represents target customer.
Design original and commercially viable product.
Act as fashion authority to drive brand designs and point of view.
Manage calendar across design team to ensure all milestones and due dates are met.
Research materials and components.
Prioritize workload and complex work streams across design team.
Effectively collaborate with leadership and cross-divisional partners to ensure alignment on priorities and direction.
Research and analyze trends and competitive brands.
Manage and develop an efficient and effective design team through performance feedback, goal setting and development plans
