About The Position

GALT Aerospace is looking for a full-time, salaried Senior DevSecOps Platform Engineer, who will play a key role in building, maintaining, and securing development and DevSecOps infrastructure across multiple aerospace projects. This position supports the growing needs of our development environment, ensuring system reliability, automation, and compliance as programs expand and CMMC accreditation progresses. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Linux system administration, virtualization, automation, and CI/CD and software best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
• 7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, system administration, or software infrastructure/automation roles
• Expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware ESXi, and vSphere administration
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Strong scripting skills in Bash; working knowledge of Python
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git-based workflows
• Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, and security best practices
• Understanding of QCOW2, QEMU, or other virtualization technologies
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CMMC, DoD, or other compliance frameworks
• Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware VCP, or Terraform/Ansible certification
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of network architecture, firewalls, and system monitoring tools
• Active DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware ESXi environments supporting development and DevSecOps pipelines
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other automation tools to improve software build, test, and deployment efficiency
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and compliance using Ansible and Terraform
• Support QCOW2/QEMU image creation and management for virtualized test environments
• Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts to streamline administrative and build processes
• Apply and validate STIG and security hardening requirements across development and test environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance across virtualized and on-premises infrastructure
• Collaborate with software development teams to ensure consistent, secure, and reliable DevSecOps practices
• Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
