Job Summary The Senior Director of Compensation is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing global compensation strategies across all regions where the company operates. Based in the United States, this role partners closely with regional HR leaders to ensure that compensation programs are competitive, equitable, compliant with local and international regulations, and aligned with the organization’s business objectives. The scope of responsibility spans a diverse global workforce, including hourly production employees, skilled trades, salaried professionals, and managerial roles. This leader plays a critical role in shaping a cohesive global compensation philosophy that supports talent attraction, retention, and performance across multiple geographies and job families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CCP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, preferably with at least 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrixed, multinational environments
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and compensation tools (e.g., UKGPro, Mercer, Payfactors).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or CCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with executive compensation, equity programs, sales compensation, and global pay structures is a plus.
  • Experience advising and working with global HR teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global compensation strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead compensation planning cycles, including merit increases, bonus programs, and salary structure adjustments.
  • Lead the design and administration of fixed and variable compensation.
  • Oversee short-term incentive programs, including eligibility, design modeling, and governance.
  • Participate in and help manage field and operational incentives.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay practices.
  • Manage job evaluation processes and maintain job architecture and leveling frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, pay equity regulations, and all federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to support workforce planning and compensation decisions.
  • Advise senior leaders on compensation-related decisions and implications.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations using compensation analytics and modeling.
  • Monitor compensation trends and proactively recommend strategy adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership.
