About The Position

GAI Consultants is seeking an Senior Engineering Director for a leadership
position within their comprehensive statewide Transportation practice. GAI has a

industry leaders. Key experience requirements include 20+ years of Project
Management on complex roadway design projects for FDOT and other local agencies
across Florida. This position requires significant client interaction, and the
candidate must possess the strategic skills to identify and develop a marketing

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with FDOT D5, Florida’s Turnpike, and CFX are required
• PE Registration in Florida is required.
• 20+ Years of Experience
• B.S. or M.S. Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.
• Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

• Other FDOT district experience and Design-Build expertise being a plus.
• Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

• Business development strategy
• Oversight of engineers in the development of plans
• Financial monitoring
• Acting as GAI’s client leadership representative
• Performs advisory or consulting work for the organization across broad project areas or within a specialized area with innovative/complex aspects.
• Assesses practices and requirements to achieve sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective.
• Oversees multiple large or multidiscipline project teams.
• Develops projects needed for accomplishing the objectives of the organization.
• Evaluates project management plans for complex engineering projects.
• Develops risk mitigation plans to address project risks.
• Evaluates effectiveness of leaders and teams.
• May manage projects, up to $250,000 in yearly value, without GAI President’s approval, but is a small component of overall work.
• Develops organizational strategy for staff development through mentored experience, continuing education, and self-development.
• Negotiates critical and controversial issues with leadership.
• Represents the organization at important functions and conferences.
