As the Senior Director, HR Operations at PCI Pharma Services, you will establish and lead a world-class global HR service delivery model supporting employees and managers across the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Australia. You will serve as the architect and operational leader of PCI’s first Global HR Service Center, driving standardization, scalability, and excellence across core HR operations, Workday data management, compliance processes, lifecycle events, employee inquiry management, and global policy execution. This role plays a critical part in executing enterprise-wide HR strategies by transforming decentralized HR work into a unified, globally consistent service delivery engine. You will build and develop a global team responsible for HR transactions, employee support, audits, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring a seamless experience for employees while strengthening PCI’s regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in HR shared services, a strong background in HR Systems, and experience leading HR operations across multiple geographies. This leader must combine operational rigor with strategic vision, building the infrastructure, governance, and talent necessary to scale PCI’s global HR services in a regulated and fast-growing life sciences environment.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5+ years leading HR Shared Services or HR Operations in a global, multi-country environment.
  • Experience building or significantly scaling a shared services or centralized HR operations function.
  • Deep expertise with Workday HCM, reporting, business processes, and data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing global HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, work authorization, background checks, and compliance-heavy processes.
  • Strong knowledge of global HR regulations across the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Australia.
  • Proven ability to lead global teams, manage change, and maintain high standards of service and data quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing metrics, dashboards, and audit programs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presence.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR, or related operations/process improvement credentials.
  • Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Global HR Shared Services Strategy & Leadership Build, launch, and lead PCI’s first Global HR Service Center, establishing a comprehensive global service delivery framework and tiered support model.
  • Drive globalization of core HR services, harmonizing processes, controls, and service standards across all operating countries.
  • Develop service-level agreements, performance metrics, and governance standards to promote accountability, efficiency, and exceptional employee experience.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team responsible for HR operations, ensuring strong collaboration, cross-training, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee execution of HR services across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee inquiries, PTO and leave administration, benefits support, and HR compliance audits.
  • Global Employee Support & Inquiry Management Oversee global HR inquiry handling, ensuring timely, accurate, and empathetic resolution through ticketing and case management systems.
  • Direct management of employee questions related to policies, PTO, benefits, leave programs, and general HR navigation.
  • Provide oversight for region-specific employee programs—including attendance/points management, service recognition, and other localized initiatives—to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Maintain a robust global knowledge management system with accurate, accessible self-service resources.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, complex employee transactions, and compliance matters, serving as a trusted advisor to managers, employees, and business leaders Workday Operations, Transactions & Data Governance Lead execution of complex Workday HCM transactions, including job changes, transfers, corrections, mass updates, and compensation-supporting changes.
  • Oversee EIB loads with full audit trail, documentation, and compliance controls.
  • Manage position management globally, ensuring structural integrity, appropriate approvals, and accurate downstream impacts.
  • Drive termination audits, ensuring data accuracy, documentation completeness, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Partner with HRIS on Workday enhancements, defect resolution, UAT cycles, workflow optimization, and configuration governance.
  • Oversee global data accuracy, quality audits, clean-up projects, and adherence to data privacy regulations (GDPR, PIPEDA, APPs, U.S. privacy laws).
  • Global Compliance Operations Lead global background check adjudication across the U.S., UK, and additional regions as they onboard into Shared Services.
  • Oversee global work authorization and right-to-work compliance, including: U.S.: I-9, E-Verify, DOT new hire requirements, and visa management UK: Sponsorship portal, right-to-work checks Ireland, Spain, Germany, Australia, Canada: Local documentation and audits Establish a globally consistent compliance framework, ensuring operational controls, process documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Legal and regional HR to track regulatory changes and update workflows accordingly.
  • Talent Operations Oversee global onboarding operations, including background checks, documentation, Workday setup, and compliance verifications.
  • Lead global offboarding operations, ensuring accurate termination processing, regulatory notifications, and system offboarding.
  • Manage severance processing and coordination with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and Site HR.
  • Benefits Administration Support U.S. Benefits Administration: Oversee U.S. benefits programs, including dependent verification, Evidence of Insurability (EOI), COBRA entries, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure accurate Workday entries and compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Global Benefits Administration: Support benefits administration for international locations, including tuition reimbursement, statutory benefits, and country-specific benefit documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and accurate recordkeeping.
  • PTO & Annual Leave Administration: Manage PTO and leave programs across all regions, ensuring proper Workday processing, adherence to statutory requirements, and consistent policy application globally.
  • Leave & Accommodations Administration Oversee U.S. leave management, including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA accommodations, and state-specific requirements.
  • Partner with regional HR to support leave and accommodation workflows in non-U.S. regions, ensuring timely processing and compliance alignment.
  • M&A Due Diligence & Integration Support HR operational due diligence for M&A initiatives by helping evaluate workforce records, compliance considerations, HR processes, payroll impacts, and data integrity.
  • Drive post-acquisition HR integration, including onboarding into Workday, harmonizing service delivery processes, aligning compliance standards, and supporting employee transition communications.
  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement This role will also champion a positive global employee experience, ensuring HR Shared Services delivers timely, accurate, and empathetic support across the employee lifecycle, fostering engagement and satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, workflow redesign, and service delivery optimization.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing global HR Shared Services team, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and career growth.
  • Establish global SOPs, process documentation, and knowledge bank content with clear ownership, version control, and consistent global standards.
  • Conduct regular data audits, quality reviews, and process assessments to drive accuracy and eliminate systemic issues.
  • Track operational KPIs and use data-driven insights to improve productivity, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize processes, optimize HR systems (including Workday), and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and service quality globally.
