Microsoft’s Washington State & Global Employee Engagement (WSGEE) team sits at the intersection of public policy, philanthropy, and employee engagement. The team is responsible for strengthening the company’s long‑term trust, credibility, and impact across Washington State, while also driving employee giving and volunteerism across the world. We align these functions to advance issues that matter most to our home region, including education, transportation, housing affordability, education, sustainability, arts and culture, and a healthy economy. To advance our employee-focused efforts, the team is seeking a Senior Director of Employee Activation. This position is a senior leadership role within the team, responsible for setting and executing Microsoft’s strategy to activate employees as engaged members of their community through giving, volunteering, board service, and policy‑aligned advocacy—while strengthening trust in Microsoft and our impact. This role oversees Microsoft's flagship employee "Give" program, which generated $255.6 million in employee contributions and 1.2 million volunteer hours in 2025, supporting 36,500 nonprofits across 110 countries. The position is responsible for driving strategic expansion into new areas for Washington State employees, including employee board service, civic engagement, and advocacy programs that align with the team’s policy priorities. The Senior Director will report to the General Manager, Washington State & Global Employee Engagement program, in the Office of the Vice Chair and President (CELA HQ). The position will be based at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington.
