This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact engineering organization focused on advancing cloud-based platforms that accelerate clinical research and improve patient outcomes. The Senior Director of Engineering will oversee a team of 25–30 engineers, driving both strategic and tactical initiatives across product development, platform architecture, and operational execution. This position blends hands-on technical insight with leadership, coaching, and scaling teams to deliver AI-enabled, data-intensive solutions in a highly regulated environment. You will influence the technical roadmap, ensure continuous delivery of high-quality software, and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative culture. Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, including managing high-performing, cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, data-heavy SaaS products on schedule with Agile methodologies.
• Strong technical background and experience in platform architecture, software development, and AI-enabled systems.
• Experience managing distributed or remote teams, with the ability to foster collaboration and engagement across locations.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and coaching skills, with a history of influencing organizational outcomes beyond the immediate team.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in regulated industries, healthcare, or life sciences is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed engineering organization, managing direct reports while supporting Engineering Managers in scaling their teams.
• Drive the technical vision and execution of platform strategy, including AI-based services that enhance clinical trial workflows.
• Oversee delivery of end-to-end software solutions that address high-impact site use cases, ensuring performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Design to align engineering initiatives with business priorities.
• Influence organizational design, processes, and culture to enable rapid product delivery and innovation.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a diverse, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
• Participate in architectural design discussions and technical problem-solving, maintaining deep understanding of core products and systems.
