About The Position

Preble Street is currently seeking a Senior Social Work Director for the Greater Portland Area to provide leadership and oversight to a designated group of social work programs which may include one or more coverage programs, ensuring the provision of high-quality services in alignment with the agency mission through program development and evaluation, resource and systems development, community relations and grants management. The Senior Social Work Director reports to the Vice President of Social Work and is accountable for all aspects of program management and oversight, including program administration and implementation, quality of care, staff supervision and support, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients, tenants, and staff. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm schedule. Please note that this is a full-time position with onsite work and participation in the on-call coverage rotation required. Designated programs will include at least one 24-hour program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study, and significant, relevant experience in nonprofit management; or comparable combination of education and relevant experience; or Master’s degree in social, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field of study, and relevant experience in nonprofit social services management (preferred qualifications).
  • Program management and administration skills and experience.
  • Team and staff leadership skills, with the ability to build diverse, inclusive, effective, and engaged teams.
  • Ability to collaborate and build strategic partnerships.
  • Connection and commitment to the mission, with the ability to promote staff engagement and team cohesion around the mission and values of Preble Street.

Nice To Haves
