About The Position

Avidyne is looking for a Senior Electronics Soldering Assembler to support the hands-on assembly, inspection, and rework of high reliability printed circuit board assemblies used in our advanced avionics products. This role is ideal for an experienced SMT assembler who takes pride in workmanship, understands quality at a systems level, and enjoys being a technical resource on the production floor. Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SMT and PTH hand soldering, including fine-pitch components
  • Solid understanding of electronic components, polarity, and electrical values
  • Ability to apply IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 standards consistently
  • Confidence performing self and peer inspections of SMT assemblies
  • Comfort working from detailed manufacturing documentation and drawings
  • A quality-first mindset and attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 7+ years of hands-on SMT and PTH soldering experience in a high-reliability manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience with SMT inspection, touch-up, or AOI-assisted processes
  • Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems
  • Background in avionics, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform SMT and through-hole hand soldering, including fine-pitch components, to IPC workmanship standards
  • Assemble and rework populated PCB assemblies using microscopes, soldering equipment, and ESD-safe tools
  • Act as a quality gate, performing self and peer inspections and helping prevent defect escape
  • Execute approved electronic rework, including jumper wires and trace modifications, with awareness of downstream impact
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Accurately document work and track production activity using manufacturing systems
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring defects or process inefficiencies
  • Serve as a technical resource for less experienced assemblers through informal coaching and knowledge sharing
