About The Position

Senior Engineering Consultant (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Consulting Services Inc.; Irvine, CA ): Develop models to solve process issues, analyze and interpret results, and recommend solutions to achieve clients’ objectives. Define methods and solve for process, hydraulic, and heat and mass transfer problems including identification and collection of field data and client information. Size equipment including pumps, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and pressure vessels. Perform relief load analysis and size pressure safety valves to protect equipment and pipes against over pressure scenarios. Select and specify process requirements for equipment, such as reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and separators, ensuring compatibility with process requirements, regulatory codes, and standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, including instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, designers, and project managers, to ensure that process engineering requirements are integrated into overall project objectives and deliverables. Review process engineering documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, calculations, and drawings to ensure documentation is accurate and compliant with project requirements and standards. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). The salary is $140,774 - $189,600 per year. Individuals in this position may be paid a discretionary bonus. #LI-DNI #GTM

Requirements

  • Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.
  • Of the required experience, must have 7 years of experience with the following: Oil and Gas production facilities process engineering; Renewable energy projects with Hydrogen technologies, including Steam Methane Reforming units, hydrogen fueling stations, and hydrogen purification by Pressure Swing Adsorption systems; Blue hydrogen studies incorporating Carbon Capture and Storage technologies including amine-based absorption, membrane separation, and oxyfuel combustion; Chemical engineering principles including heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, fluid flow, and hydraulics; Process simulation software including Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Flare Analyzer, ProMax, and ProII; Hydraulic analysis and simulations with AFT Fathom, Arrow and Impulse, PipeFlo, and PipePhase; Developing Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Heat and Material Balance, Design Basis Memorandum, process equipment sizing, and pipe sizing for Oil, Gas, and Water facilities; and American Petroleum Institute (API), Gas Processors Supply Association (GPSA), ASME, NFPA, and ANSI codes and standards for design and analysis of equipment.
  • Must have an active U.S. or Canadian Professional Engineer license.
