We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Pricing team, which is responsible for delivering optimal price strategies across every hotel, flight, and rental car sold on the Engine platform. This backend-focused team plays a critical role in balancing company revenue, member savings, and market competitiveness, partnering closely with product and data to power high-impact pricing decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical leadership, experience building complex backend systems, and a data-driven mindset. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of Engine’s pricing platform while fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on driving performance and results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical foundation with expertise in at least one of TypeScript/Node.js, Java/Kotlin, or Ruby on Rails, plus experience working with AWS and Datadog.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Deep understanding of agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • A strategic and results-driven approach to engineering and team leadership.
  • Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and technical excellence.
  • Drive efficiency through agile methodologies and engineering best practices, continuously refining workflows, tools, and processes.
  • Act as the bridge between engineering and other teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative solutions that enhance product development and business growth.
