SUMMARY: The Senior Manager of Engineering plans, organizes and directs engineering to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and ten (10) or more years of related experience.
  • Promotes outstanding service to all levels of customer, both internal and external.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of engineers focused on targeting system level solutions to projects, setting goals, motivating, and mentoring the team to ensure they deliver high-quality solutions for customers.
  • Develops and implements company wide strategies for targeting and achieving engineered solution level sales process successfully.
  • Manages engineering budget ensuring expenses are used efficiently and projected margins are maintained.
  • Oversees engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on-time and within budget.
  • Develops a recruiting and rotational training curriculum for advancing new and existing engineers, ensuring that team members are up-to-date with the latest technologies and practices in the industry.
  • Develops relationships with clients and strategic transactional suppliers.
  • Evaluates various supplier facilities across the world.
  • Recommends budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements.
  • Works with customers on product improvement and new product development for specific applications.
  • Supports manufacturing and production through process development, process improvement, test development and other quality engineering activities.
  • Sets design standards for products purchased from suppliers.
  • Manages a team of professional employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
