Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Planner with 10+ years of experience to support our Northeast Environmental team. The position will perform a variety of environmental research and reporting functions in support of environmental analysis assignments.. The Senior Environmental Planner must be flexible, client focused and capable of working independently under the supervision of senior project managers. The work required is diverse and ranges from general data analysis and interpretation to technical work that requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a planning, environmental or related scientific, analytic, or engineering field. MS preferred
  • 10-15 years of environmental and/or transportation planning experience.
  • Must be licensed Planner
  • 3-5 years of NYC CEQR and ULURP experience desired
  • Strong written and oral communication and data management/visualization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Experience with GIS a plus
  • Working knowledge of NEPA, state and regulatory environmental regulations, and Phase I, II environmental reviews a must.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation and/or ArcGIS, Bentley software products a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Practice Leads and Management.
  • Conduct environmental reviews for mixed-use, large-scale development projects, and regional infrastructure projects (highway, transit, aviation, major buildings, site redevelopment)
  • Analyzes data, utilizes GIS, conducts research, and packages submissions for agency submittal relating SEQRA, CEQR EAS (Environmental Assessment Statements) and NEPA EIS (Environmental Impact Statements) to measure impacts imposed by proposed actions.
  • Familiarity with technical and analytical requirements and ability to analyze as part of a multidisciplined NEPA review, and integrate into a composite environmental review document
  • Supports proposal preparation, development of task and labor costs, monitors and manages contract invoice and payments received, from the RFP process through project completion.
  • Composes technical reports, memorandums and other written communication such as email, technical studies and memoranda and handles multiple concurrent projectsFacilitates meetings with clients, contractors, engineers,architects, applicants and team interdisciplinary team members
  • Other duties as required.
