Santos is the operator of the Pikka Field Development and surrounding exploration acreage on the North Slope of Alaska. Our focus is advancement of the Pikka Phase 1 project, which includes a single drill site, an oil processing facility, and other infrastructure to support production of 80,000 barrels of oil per day. The permitted greater Pikka development project includes two additional drill sites. The Pikka Unit is one of the largest conventional oil discoveries made in the United States in the last 30 years, and the Pikka Phase 1 Project is the most significant development on Alaska's North Slope in more than 20 years. The Alaska asset also includes the Mitquq and Stirrup discoveries with additional running room via a diverse set of identified prospects and maturing plays. These opportunities combine to offer a clear path to long-term growth in Alaska. Pikka has been identified as being among the top quartile of oil and gas development projects for greenhouse gas emissions performance. Pikka is poised to play an important role in the energy transition and is aligned with our company goal of managing climate change risk. We are seeking an additional team member to bring technical excellence, accountability and a strong commitment to the Santos core values. This role resides in the Exploration & New Ventures Alaska team and will focus on play to prospect maturation. The Senior Exploration Geophysicist is a member of the Exploration & New Ventures Alaska Team and part of the Subsurface and Engineering organization. This role will be responsible for identification and characterization of plays and prospects within the Colville Basin on the North Slope of Alaska: Generate value through application of sound scientific principles to identify and high-grade exploration and appraisal opportunities Mature play and prospect portfolio through detailed mapping, QI, risk description and volumetric assessment Geophysical mapping of 2D and 3D seismic data (regional and prospect specific; structural and stratigraphic) Generate well-to-seismic ties, rock physics analysis & depth conversions Quantitative analysis of seismic data for attribute characterization and AVO/AVA of rock properties Assisting with seismic acquisition & processing and exploration well operations Integrating data and applying stratigraphic concepts to refine the subsurface description
