About The Position

Development, maintenance and implementation of budgeting, reporting, benchmarking and/or cost accounting systems. Compiling and presenting statistical and financial information and providing analytical and financial support to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Communication Skills
  • Work closely with managers to communicate and explain financial findings and answer questions.
  • Prepare and present effective written and oral communications.
  • Decision-Making / Problem-Solving Skills
  • Evaluate user requests to define the appropriate course of action, investigate solutions, and question assumptions.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Technical Skills
  • Spreadsheet & Data Analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.
  • Skilled in data manipulation: sorting, filtering, cut/copy/paste.
  • Knowledge of advanced functions: SUMIF, VLOOKUP, etc.
  • Ability to create and interpret graphs and pivot tables.
  • System Maintenance
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word or other word processing software.
  • Capable of creating and editing documents, using bullets and numbering, and working with tables.
  • Accounting Skills
  • General understanding of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Familiarity with PFM, PeopleSoft, or other healthcare GL systems.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting methodologies.
  • 3–5 years in financial analysis, budgeting, benchmarking, cost accounting, or system maintenance.

  • 3–5 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

  • Development, Maintenance, and Implementation of Financial Systems (50%)
  • Expertly maintain budgeting, reporting, benchmarking, and cost accounting systems.
  • Ensure financial systems provide actionable insights and benefits to the hospital.
  • Update financial information promptly to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with departmental managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Recommend and implement system or report enhancements to address evolving organizational needs.
  • Manage system upgrades and improvements.
  • Operations, Financial Analysis, and Reporting (50%)
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc financial and statistical reports.
  • Proactively review financial results and analyze significant variances.
  • Collaborate with other Senior Analysts to support:
  • Budget preparation and monitoring
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Payroll review
  • Benchmarking studies
  • Cost accounting requests
