About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to build and implement comprehensive fixed asset management processes from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape our fixed asset accounting infrastructure and make a significant impact on our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong fixed asset accounting skills, process development experience, and the willingness to travel to multiple locations for process implementation, asset management and verification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of fixed asset accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of GAAP related to property, plant, and equipment
  • Experience with capital project tracking and budget management
  • Experience developing and implementing accounting processes and controls
  • Proficiency with fixed asset management software and ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up ~15% to company facilities for asset verification and tagging
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Experience in electrical manufacturing or related industrial sectors

Responsibilities

  • Design, document and implement new fixed asset accounting processes, policies, and procedures, identifying opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements
  • Develop and maintain fixed asset budget tracking systems and reporting frameworks
  • Provide periodic reporting to executive team summarizing ongoing project actual spend versus budget
  • Manage the complete fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, transfers, and disposals, including all record keeping
  • Maintain detailed fixed asset registers and supporting documentation, including fixed asset roll forwards
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports and reconciliations
  • Coordinate with operations and facilities teams to verify asset locations and condition
  • Conduct physical asset tagging initiatives at multiple company locations
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies for fixed asset accounting
  • Execute internal control activities related to the acquire-to-retire cycle
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to fixed assets
  • Support income tax team with respect to book basis of fixed assets
