About The Position

Reporting to Finance Leadership and partnering closely with Strategic Finance, the Senior Full Stack Engineer, Finance Systems will design and build purpose-driven internal systems that fundamentally transform how Finance operates at scale at Fanatics Collectibles. This role is focused on eliminating manual, fragmented processes; dramatically improving visibility through dashboards and KPIs; and automating high-impact workflows that support planning, reporting, and decision-making at scale. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of technology, data, and business operations—and who is motivated by building systems that materially change how teams work. The ideal candidate is excited by complex, ambiguous problems; takes pride in building durable, elegant solutions; and is comfortable operating as a trusted technical partner to finance and executive leaders. Success in this role requires strong engineering fundamentals, a product-oriented mindset, and the ability to turn real-world finance problems into scalable, intuitive systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of full stack engineering experience building modern web applications, internal tools, or platform-style systems.
  • Strong proficiency with contemporary frontend and backend technologies (e.g., React or similar frameworks; Node.js, Python, or comparable backend stacks).
  • Demonstrated experience designing scalable system architectures, building secure APIs, and working across structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data infrastructure, including data warehouses and analytics ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous, high-level business problems and translate them into intuitive, high-impact technical solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong product and systems thinking, with a bias toward building solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
  • High ownership mindset with strong technical judgment and the ability to independently drive initiatives from problem definition through delivery.
  • Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders, including finance and executive leadership, and influencing through clarity and results.
  • Ability to balance speed and rigor—delivering quick wins while building scalable, durable foundations.
  • Clear communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant terms.
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined, with a strong appreciation for data quality, security, and auditability—especially in a finance context.
  • Curious, pragmatic, and motivated by continuous improvement and leverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and abstracting core finance data into modern services, data platforms, and internal tools is a strong plus.
  • Experience designing or integrating AI- and automation-driven capabilities (e.g., LLM-powered services, workflow orchestration, intelligent agents, or data-driven alerting) to create scalable, high-leverage systems is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to finance, accounting, analytics, or enterprise systems is preferred, though deep finance domain expertise is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own internal finance-facing applications that significantly improve efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across core finance workflows (e.g., planning, forecasting, reporting, approvals, and tracking).
  • Architect and deliver dashboards and KPI frameworks that provide real-time, self-serve insight into financial and operational performance for Finance and Executive Leadership.
  • Identify, redesign, and automate manual and error-prone finance processes, including data ingestion, reconciliations, approvals, variance analysis, and recurring reporting.
  • Build and maintain secure, scalable APIs, data pipelines, and integrations that connect finance systems, data warehouses, and operational platforms.
  • Partner directly with Strategic Finance, Accounting, and FP&A leaders to understand pain points and translate business needs into well-architected technical solutions.
  • Thoughtfully embed AI-enabled capabilities where they create leverage (e.g., intelligent alerts, workflow orchestration, anomaly detection, narrative generation, and agentic automation).
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions, then harden them into production-ready systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Establish strong documentation, engineering standards, and ownership practices to ensure finance tooling remains extensible, trustworthy, and easy to evolve over time.
