About The Position

We are currently seeking experienced Senior Highway Design Engineers to join our team in upstate New York our Syracuse, Buffalo, and Rochester. With a robust backlog of work in both conventional and design/build project delivery, we are looking for strong leaders who can lead projects and mentor a team of engineers and designers. Position Overview: We are seeking engineers for the landmark NYSDOT I-81 Viaduct Project. This $2.0B project, the largest in NYSDOT’s history, is transforming the fabric of Central New York. This role is available on a hybrid schedule in New York state, with remote options available for qualifying candidates. Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Strong NYSDOT highway design experience.
  • 8+ years of experience working with 3D design of major road projects.
  • P.E. License required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Bentley’s InRoads and OpenRoads Designer applications desired.
  • Opportunities to travel and support major infrastructure projects across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highway, interchange, and street design, including geometric design, 3D modeling, drainage design, work zone traffic control, construction staging, construction specification development, and material quantity calculations.
  • Utilize engineering software and interface with CAD designers, other engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
  • Produce detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
  • Optimize plans, profiles, and cross-sections by integrating drainage and utility information.
  • Generate temporary and permanent construction quantities and use visualization to resolve conflicts.
  • Support multi-disciplinary design development teams for project execution.
