About The Position

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) as part of the Human Resources team. The HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor to guide leaders towards effective working relationships and organizational success. The HR Business Partner will report to the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer. For the Laboratory, the work week is a 9/80’s schedule with every other Friday off. The Human Resources Business Partner is part of the HR team. You will work with other HRBPs, delivering the full scope of progressive HR consulting services, working in conjunction with the HR team, including Benefits, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and HR Information Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources or related field with a minimum of 10 or more years of experience as a business partner
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
  • Must be well organized and multi-task oriented
  • Able to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others to develop a consensus on issues
  • Excellent human relations, critical thinking, written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and manage professional relationships with staff and customers
  • Highly effective in communicating to a variety of stakeholders
  • This position will be a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-employment drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert consultation to customer organizations and make recommendations on key Human Resources strategies, initiatives, issues, and programs
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders and other support staff across the laboratory
  • Solve problems with little precedent that often cross areas/organizations through the development of new approaches and techniques while establishing and maintaining effective relationships
  • Partners with management to ensure a complete understanding of the directorate strategy, human capital needs and objectives
  • Functions as a generalist in a variety of HR activities.
  • Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.
  • May conduct formal investigations
  • Broad and extensive specialized and operational knowledge of HR principles, practices, and processes.
  • Experience with a wide variety of HR activities, such as workforce planning, and employee relations
  • Team with other HR professionals and line managers to develop effective solutions and strategies to support laboratory’s objectives
  • Counsel assigned customer organizations and interpret the applications of relevant policies and regulations for situational specific issues
  • Facilitate resolution of HR concerns and advise on alternative approaches to resolving issues and opportunities for improvement
  • You will use your expert knowledge in HR related areas to interact with all levels of management and employees
  • Support basic Human Resources process improvements and Human Resources projects, with effective change management principles
  • Provide thoughtful and tactful communications, while treating others with dignity and respect, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
