Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers. As the Senior Hybrid Cloud Engineer ( Senior Engineering Specialist - Cyber Security & Cloud Computing Architecture) supporting the Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform (EMIP) team, you will be responsible for providing matrixed technical and programmatic leadership and support across multiple Space Force program offices such as Battlefield Management Command, Control, Communications, and Space Intelligence (BMC3I), Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI), the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), among others. This role provides critical cloud architecture, cyber security, and systems engineering support for our various customers and users along with acquisition planning and execution support for their current and future cloud environments across all classification levels . The EMIP Senior Hybrid Cloud Engineer will apply technical expertise to ensure capability needs are translated and applied to acquisition and development efforts, promoting integration of pioneering technology and rapid acquisition efficiencies. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or other relevant technical field is 15 plus years of progressively more responsible experience in architecture for software-intensive systems and cloud computing, preferably in the space system domain C
loud-based platform experience such as A mazon Web Services.
Experience leading integrated, multidisciplinary, multi-organizational teams
Experience with DOD Protection Level 2 and 3 systems.
Experience developing ground system architectures for DOD space customers
Demonstrated ability to interface with senior level customers and senior leadership
Willingness to travel domestically to support customer needs, approximately 10% -15% as
This position requires a current and active Top Secret security clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain SCI and Special Access (SAP), which is issued by the U.S. government.
U.S citizenship is to obtain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in a STEM field or other relevant field
Experience with processes associated with a government system acquisition and lifecycle
Demonstrated experience in the development, integration, and test of software and/or data-intensive system architectures
Demonstrated knowledge in Zero-Trust architectures, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform or other standards-based automation

Responsibilities

Support the Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform (EMIP) team’s customers in developing cloud and ground architectures, roadmaps, technical capabilities, and products that support the needs of the warfighter
Lead technology investigation initiatives, work with vendors, the government, other FFRDC organizations, and various contractors to prototype, demonstrate and deliver cyber secure platform capabilities to the warfighters at several Space Force bases, customer locations in Colorado, and undisclosed mission sites
Engage with commercial technology leaders in discussing product and technology roadmaps and translating those into strategic opportunities for National Security Space (NSS) Ground Enterprise
Work hands on with the customer and solutions providers to prototype, design, and demonstrate cloud computing architectures and services to support the needs of our warfighters
Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with customers, colleagues, and senior management
Lead innovation in the key technologies for use in ground systems from the edge to the cloud
The EMIP group performs analysis, testing demonstrations of leading platform, cloud, cyber security technologies, and works with vendors on demonstrations on behalf of the customer
