About The Position

Position Purpose : Supports the asset management life cycle of information technology hardware and/or software assets throughout the organization. Implement policies, processes and procedures in support of Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) objectives. Identify and integrate ITAM processes with related processes within IS, to include Integrated Cloud Orchestration System (ICOS), procurement management, contract management, change management, and incident management. Location: This is a full‑time and onsite position with Companion Data Services , a subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, located in Columbia, SC. What You’ll Do : Analyze and reconcile asset discovery data against current inventory data, entitlement data, and contractual terms and conditions for IT assets. Create and execute action plans to research and resolve identified gaps. Audit hardware inventories for accuracy. Analyze hardware utilization reports to understand current demand and forecast future utilization. Establish appropriate inventory levels to support business demand. Provide ITAM support and services to IS projects upgrading or implementing new software and hardware assets. Maintain involvement into IT operations and system configuration changes that may impact ITAM functions, inventory data, or licensing compliance. Forecast, track and notify interested IS organizations of critical lifecycle and contractual milestones and activities (expirations, renewals, etc.). Provide data, knowledge and preparation in support of the milestones as appropriate. Implement processes for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) activities ensuring work is in compliance with regulatory, government, and customer requirements. Actively seek and identify opportunities for cost savings and containment. Package and present ITAM savings opportunities to Senior Management. Participate in budget creation and development efforts related to IT assets. Mentor entry level ITAM personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in a job related field
  • 5 years of asset management, procurement, workstation support, or other job related work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Management policies, procedures and concepts.
  • In depth understanding of hardware/software licensing/maintenance models.
  • Strong analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments.
  • Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hands-on experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) including creating and presenting SAM documentation.
  • Business Analysis experience.
