Join JPMC’s Lifestyle org within Consumer and Community Banking as a Lead Engineer - Web, where you'll enhance and deliver secure, scalable user-facing technology products using TypeScript, React, and other modern web technologies, while collaborating in a creative, agile environment. As a Lead Engineer - Web at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality frontend user interfaces using TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Other Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, Data Analysts, Content Editors, and other disciplines to deliver comprehensive software solutions.
- Write clean, concise, and secure code with minimal guidance, ensuring both frontend and backend components are robust and efficient.
- Engage in pair programming, code reviews, and project task estimation with other Frontend, Backend, and Full-Stack Engineers.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
- Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to enhance automation and improve value delivery.
- Apply advanced technical troubleshooting skills to solve complex technical problems.
- Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify issues and contribute to decision-making for secure, stable application development.
- Continuously learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems.

Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Expertise in TypeScript, React, JSX/TSX and Frontend Development.
- Competency in a programming language for backend development, with experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Knowledgeable in mobile-first and responsive design principles.
- Experience debugging and solving cross-browser issues.
- Ability to integrate with APIs in the context of a modern web application.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to review Figma design boards from a UX Designer for technical vetting and execution.
- A keen interest in staying ahead of modern development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning.
- Experience working across the entire Software Development Life Cycle in a large corporate environment.
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud technologies.
