About The Position

Stevenson Oaks is Forth Worth's premier senior living community, and we’re looking for an outgoing, glass half-full kind of person. You know the type; an optimistic, playful, creative, get the party started individual who can jump into a life-changing role as a full-time Activities Coordinator to work in skilled nursing. Two days are never the same, the days will fly by going on road trips, having parties, making sushi rolls, and yes sometimes playing cards and bingo. You will have the opportunity to develop close and meaningful relationships with some pretty fascinating folks –our residents and feel the value that you bring each and every day. 💙 As a part of this team, this individual will engage with residents to understand their life purpose, goals, interests, and aptitudes. Armed with this knowledge, the position seeks to promote health & wellness, exercise, nutrition, events, activities, social connections, which help residents engage in the community in a way that increases their health, wellness and overall satisfaction. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Activities Coordinator to: Administer, direct, and coordinate community wellness and programming for our Elders that addresses physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. Enrich the lives of our Elders by promoting the Eden Alternative 7 Domains of Well Being. Ensure all services are performed within a resident-centered model and in collaboration with the community’s life enrichment team. Be responsible for planning and publishing a monthly activity calendar, adherence to budget, and documentation in accordance with State requirements. Scheduling and the roles of volunteers in planned activities. The Activities Coordinator will report to the Lifestyle Director and will work with the Life Enrichment team to provide meaningful experiences to all of Stevenson Oaks Elders.

Requirements

  • Experience in wellness and activity programs for senior adults, preferably in a long term care setting.
  • Considerable knowledge of computer use, including e-mail, MS Office and ability to learn relevant facility software.
  • Knowledge of the processes of aging, and of personal and social problems confronting older persons and society in general.
  • Should have demonstrated direct concern for older people and an ability to work with them.
  • Understands wellness is multi-faceted and encompasses social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions.
