Position Summary We are seeking a Sr. Manager of AI & Automation - Last Mile Delivery Planning to lead the development of intelligent, data-driven supply and demand planning systems that balance driver supply with fulfillment demand for 52 weeks outlook—at massive scale. You will build and refine AI-led automation that leverage ML to predict driver supply and demand while balancing supply and demand via advanced planning engine to optimize last-mile profitability, fulfillment speed, on-time delivery, and driver experience.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in applied AL/ML, supply & demand planning, last mile optimization, tech product management for supply chain planning systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into operational impact.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Experience collaborating across product, operations, and technical teams.
  • Effective communicator with an ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in applied AL/ML, supply & demand planning, last mile optimization, tech product management for supply chain planning systems.
  • Supply Chain Planning Automation, Optimization, and Transformation: Experience in developing and implementing large scale supply chain optimization systems and / or leading large scale supply chain planning transformation and automation.
  • Roadmap Creation & Prioritization: Experience in developing complex roadmaps, evaluating and making tradeoffs, and driving prioritizations aligning with business priorities and strategies.
  • Launch & Scaling: Experience in leading cross functional teams in executing launches and scaling systematic solutions. Experience in building Go-To-Market strategy and launch execution plan, performing A/B tests, and defining metrics and measuring outcomes.
  • Cross Functional Leadership: Experiences in leading cross functional teams, influence w/o authority, and demonstrate strong ownership working in a matrix organization.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experiences with presenting to senior leadership.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics to test hypothesis, validate assumptions, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced SQL skills
  • Manage Ambiguity: Strong ability to manage ambiguity and frame / simplify complex problems.
  • Experience with reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, or behavioral segmentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI-powered Supply and Demand Planning systems for Last-Mile Delivery business, automate S&OP process while optimizing supply and demand strategies.
  • Develop advanced ML systems that forecast 52-weeks out driver Supply and Demand at store, market, and national levels across various fulfillment channels for Walmart Last Mile Delivery.
  • Develop optimization systems, with predictive simulation and scenario evaluation capabilities, to balance supply and demand.
  • Partner with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to pilot test and scale AI powered S&OP system across entire US market.
  • Create strategy, roadmap, and BRD documents partnering with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data Science for forecasting and S&OP optimization systems.
  • Communicate project status updates (against goals) through narratives and business reviews to leadership and peers.
  • Define, track, and deep dive KPIs as related to supply and demand planning and AI system effectiveness.
  • Provide thought-leadership to Walmart LMD leadership and business partners in delivering AI / ML solutions to strategic areas.
