About The Position

This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced public health professional to lead and manage epidemiological research projects with both internal teams and external global partners. As Senior Manager, Applied Epidemiology, you will design, implement, and oversee studies evaluating vaccine effectiveness, impact, and disease surveillance initiatives. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, or related field; doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in epidemiology, public health research, or vaccine studies.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in advanced statistical methods, ideally using R; familiarity with other analytical tools is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing large, multi-country datasets and disease surveillance projects.
  • Knowledge of vaccine trials, effectiveness studies, and clinical research design.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable insights for policy and program development.
  • Experience collaborating with global health partners and stakeholders, including international organizations and ministries of health.
  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills, including preparation of policy briefs, reports, and manuscripts.
  • Strong project management abilities, including coordination of complex international projects and budget oversight.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, culturally sensitive, and skilled at working across diverse teams and geographies.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of epidemiological and vaccine research projects, ensuring adherence to study protocols, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Manage multi-institutional project teams, including coordination of staff, principal investigators, and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain study protocols, data collection tools, standard operating procedures, and statistical analysis plans.
  • Oversee data management, quality assurance, and advanced statistical analyses, translating findings into actionable insights for policy and practice.
  • Prepare reports, scientific manuscripts, policy briefs, and presentations to disseminate research results to stakeholders.
  • Conduct site monitoring visits and ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice and project objectives.
  • Engage with global health partners, including ministries of health and international organizations, to share evidence and inform public health decisions.
  • Support grant proposals, reporting, and management of project budgets and subcontracts.
  • Foster innovative approaches to data visualization and analytical methodologies to enhance evidence-driven decision-making.
